At Avram Rusu Studio, the quality and craftsmanship behind our materials is commensurate with the creativity and design of our collections. The foundation of everything we make is natural elements, intensive research, skilled artistry, and meticulous details resulting in bold, unique sculptural compositions.
Andreea Avram Rusu embraces the juxtaposition of technical precision and creative exploration as she develops her work — starting with specific formal concepts and collaborating with exceptional artisans to hone forms to bring her ideas to fruition.
GLASS
Our lighting collections offer the largest selection of fine hand-blown glass available, including essential (standard), specialty and custom glass colors as well as ombre, striped, edged, and layered effects on our shades.
We love glass colors, are intimately involved with the glass-making process, and experiment constantly. Andreea has invested years of study in the complexities of glass, a notoriously unpredictable material, in order to understand its nuances. Detailed experimentation with glass form, color, opacity, layering, and illumination goes into all of her intricate lighting designs. Working with talented glassblowers who are masters of their craft, Andreea has honed a glass vernacular all her own. This This intensive, hands-on approach means that each collection has specific considerations and qualities that distinguish Avram Rusu Studio’s work as bespoke and unique.
All our lighting collection glass is hand-blown in Brooklyn, New York.

Glass tops for our table collections are etched and shaped to our unique specifications to highlight the forms. Glass tops, such as those on our Stonehenge Tables, are integral components of the designs as well as functional surfaces.
METAL
Our metal components are largely custom-designed and manufactured especially for our pieces and made in the USA. All metal is hand finished and clear coated to prevent tarnish. Finish options, including customization, vary by collection and can be found on the collection pages. For our lighting collections, we primarily use brass for its finishing qualities. Furniture collections utilize both brass and steel.
Options include Oil Rubbed Bronze, Pewter, Brushed Nickel, Polished Nickel, Brushed Copper, Polished Copper, Antique Brass, Brushed Brass, Polished Brass (shown left to right).
STONE
Each stone slab in our table collections is unique. We lay out our stone tops individually to enhance the form of each design by accentuating the natural beauty of the material they are cut from.
Options include Calcutta Gold, Grey Venato, Nero Black (shown left to right). Custom stone tops are also available.
HARDWOOD
We use quality hardwoods with durable finishes for all our table collections. Nova Collection tabletop options include Walnut, Oak, Cherry and Maple (shown left to right)
Atlas Collection table feet are Oak and finished to coordinate with the stone top selection.
